One of the ideas that I have for Bosh is that part of his semi-divinity means that when he (or his bodily fluids) come in contact with inanimate objects, those inanimate objects come temporarily to life. So for the first time we meet him, I intend to have him peeing on a rock in the ground (roughly sketched with this post), and the rock to protest loudly, "Stop pissing in my face!" To which Bosh replies, "You wouldn't be yapping if I weren't pissing in your face, so shut up already!"
This will be our first introduction to Bosh, but won't really occur until later in the page. Things will begin serenely with Bill in a wooded area just being goofy happy go lucky Bill and coming across something unexpected. I'm thinking either a diamond or other large jewel or a box with slight noises coming from within it. Bill picks up the diamond / jewel and smiles bigly or walks up to the box smiling curiously when all of a sudden he hears the rock yelling. He drops the jewel in the mud or loses interest in the box, and then walks over to the bushes where he heard the noise and peaks out into a clearing. In the clearing he sees Bosh peeing on the rock and having their conversation.
Bill then begins to whisper frantically out to Bosh "Psst! Hey! Get out of the clearing! Hunters hunt this area!"
Close up on Bosh looking up, saying "Hunters? Don't be..."
Cut to far away shot from behind Bosh in the clearing viewed through the crosshairs of a gunsight: "...ridiculous."
CRACKABOOM!
Then one of two things happen:
Scenario 1: Bosh gets shot through the eye and falls over apparently dead, splattering blood all over the rock and Bill whose head is still protruding from the bushes. Innocent Bill retreats back into the safety of the bushes totally freaking out. Bosh pushes himself up on all fours and looks up, cursing. His face suddenly heals. Then he turns and we see his angry face, again through the crosshairs of a gun, then he disappears, then suddenly we see a movement zipping through the forest towards the hunter. He leaps onto the hunter and kills him. Then he runs back down to Bill whom he finds whimpering next to the diamond / box. He tells him to calm down, he's immortal, etc etc. Bill cheers up and they've met.
Scenario 2: Bosh's ear turns like radar towards the sound of the gunshot, then matrix-slow-motion-style he moves out of the way of the bullet, glances back and notices the bullet is headed for innocent Bill sticking his head out of the bushes. Bosh runs alongside the bullet, grabs it and turns it around, runs with it back up the hill towards the gunman who sees him approaching through his gunsight, begins to run away, but is killed by his own bullet as Bosh slams it into his head saying something like "Take that, you bastard!" Then he runs back down to Bill whom he finds whimpering next to the diamond / box. He tells him to calm down, he's immortal, etc etc. Bill cheers up and they've met.
I'm not sure which one of these story lines I like better. There's a third option that combines the two where the bullet goes through Bosh's ear and then the super-speed Bill-saving moves kick in, so we get to see him getting healed and Bill's shock at him getting shot as the bullet fast approaches Bill. Scenario 2 adds a bit of Bosh feeling responsible for Bill who was only in danger because he tried to warn Bosh (who didn't really need warning).
Please let me know if you like this idea and which scenario you prefer on Twitter.
